Aria is 3 months old!

Time is flying by so fast! Today Aria visited her baby GI doctor for a belly check up and we were happy to find out that she has gained lots of weight and has grown. (On our last visit she was underweight because she was throwing up so much of her food). Now she is in the 95th percentile for weight and at the highest percentile for height! Almost 15 pounds and 26 inches!

Also, today the Dr. suggested that we start the "cry it out" method at night. Currently, we hold Aria until she falls asleep. Tonight we are going to feed her, change her, read to her and put her in her crib. The dr. told us that we have to let Aria cry until she falls asleep...it's apparently called self-soothing...something that babies have to learn to do. Grandma Laya and Mommy are not looking forward to hearing Aria cry and Ali suggested we go for a walk because we can't handle listening to her cry. =( Wish us luck...I'll post an update...see if Mommy and Grandma survive the cry it out method.

On a fun note...here are some photos of Aria with her best-friend and boyfriend Kaison Kowlaski! Aren't they precious???

Happy Persian New Year!!!

Here we are with Aria in front of our Persian New Year sofreh! We set out our first sofreh for Persian New Year--a tradition that we will pass on to Aria to continue with her family. We dressed up Aria in her beautiful spring dress from Aunty Mahdis! We spent Persian New Year Dinner with the Bagherys, Ghaboosis, and Rahims! Aria got to meet Zaki Rahim for the first time who is one year older than Aria.

We also celebrated Teddy's first birthday. Our little boy is growing up!

St. Patricks Day

Aria was all dolled up for St. Patrick's Day in her shirt provided by her Uncle Bill & Aunty Lee.
As far as a colic update--we went to a Pediatric GI who told us that her condition is normal for a colicy baby. One salvation--the vacuum cleaner! Who would have known? The second we turn it on--her screaming settles a bit. As of now, we are getting used to the screaming from 7pm to 7am...We have tried every wives tale and home remedy for her belly aches...but nothing seems to help....If anyone has advice...we'll take it. Hopefully she'll grown out of this phase soon =)

Viva Las Vegas!!!

Aria went to Vegas--not gambling, the vegas strip, and clubbing...but a visit to see her family!!! Aria had so much fun with her Great-Grandma Nayer, Aunt Sheri, Uncle/Godfather Steve, Aunty Gail, Cousin Avi and Cousin Aliyah!! We had a wonderful time visiting with family and were sad to leave! We'll be back soon!

2 month old birthday party

Today was Aria's 2 month old birthday! She spent the day with her Aunt Winnie, Uncle Amir, Cousin Clara, Grandma & Grandpa Giti, Grandpa Dory, and Mommy & Daddy! We attempted to make a plaster imprint of her hands and feet--it was a family operation--we all tried and managed to get a full imprint of 1 foot and hand imprints with a couple fingers missing--we decided they looked more like Teddy's pawprints...oh well! We decided to attempt to do this again in a few years when she is older. At least we tried =)

As for an Aria update: she gets bigger and bigger each day, her belly is still achy but getting better, she still feeds every 2-3 hours, she loves taking showers with her papa every day, she laughs and smiles a lot, and her tear ducts are starting to open up (the other day she cried because she was hungry and mommy and her cousin Alaleh saw Aria's first tear drop!)

Miss Aria is 8 Weeks Old!

The past month has flown by! It has gone by so fast and little Aria is growing and growing! She is now twelve pounds and 24 inches long! She laughs, smiles and giggles. We wish we could say she is sleeping through the night and we know it will come some day, but for now, she's waking up every 2-3 hours. She has also ben having belly aches and reflux, so she's been having trouble sleeping, but we're hoping it will get better as her digestive system matures. She has enjoyed her visitors and loves to be out on the town. Things that make her stop crying are car trips, the sound of the vacuum cleaner, and going to the mall with grandma and mommy.

Aria is 4 weeks old!

Time flies by so fast! Aria is growing and changing everyday and we are enjoying her so much! She's still keeping us up at night and we're functioning on 4-5 hours of sleep. Someday she'll sleep through the night =)

On exciting news, on Tuesday she got the chance to meet Kaison Kowalski--they are 11 days apart.
